What is Battle of the Books?

"Battle of the Books" is a voluntary reading incentive program sponsored by the Schoolcraft Community Library and is open to 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. The competitions consist of library staff members asking detailed questions about books from a predetermined reading list. Each "Battle Team" consists of 6 students who must provide the correct answer and book author to score points. Teams with the highest cumulative score after 21 questions (3 rounds of 7 questions each), during the "Qualifying Battle", will earn the right to participate in the "Grand Battle".

Where are the battles held?

Qualifiying and Grand Battles are held at the Schoolcraft High School Performing Arts Center located at 552 East Lyons Street (2 blocks east of 131).
